Here I am

I have considered myself an amateur photographer for the last 8 years. This year I started working as a secondary photographer for weddings. I really enjoy being involved in a couples special day to capture all the hard work and love they invested to put the occasion together. In conversation with a good friend and mentor, discussing how he has grown and the impact his blog has made on that growth, he asked why I hadn't created a photography blog for myself. While I do have a blog for my other hobby ( I hadn't really considered posting a photo blog. Our conversation really made me reflect on the WHY. The only answer I could come up with was that I had lack of confidence, a fear that others would not like my work. That's when I decided I needed to get over that! To me I can not learn if I am not willing to put myself out there to others for their input. Photography will always just remain a hobby if I am not willing to share my work and learn from others. I know I have a lot to learn but who knows I maybe able to share something with others. I want to take a moment to say thank you to my friend and mentor. Thank you for helping me find that road block and for sharing your own experiences. To my husband Chris, thank you for always being here for me, believing in me and giving me PhotoShop tips.
