Reflecting

Last week a photographer friend/mentor of mine came up with the idea of blogging everyday till Christmas. At first this made me really nervous. Would I have enough to blog about, would I know what to say, what pictures do I use or write about, and those were only some of the thoughts swirling in my head. Now that the challenge is coming to an end (although I returned the idea to its creator of extending this till New Years) I have to say I have enjoyed it. I looked through photos from the past eight or nine years and I got to see how far I have come. Without a reason I might have never really taken a look at some of those photos. This challenge has given me a renewed confidence in myself and my skills.
When I started this blog I was unsure about calling myself a photographer. Yes I was working as a secondary but I just did not have a whole lot of confidence in my work. I will admit I still have a lot to learn but I am proud of the progress I have made in the last three years.
Looking through the images was only one part of my renewed confidence. The other piece is the support I have received along the way, from my husband always encouraging and challenging me, to my close friends, family, my mentor, and the people commenting on my blog. I want to say thank you. Without your feedback, encouragement, nor support along the way I am not sure I would have kept striving for better or trying to push my limits. For that all I can offer is my humble thank you and the promise that I will keep pushing my limits and learning every day.

I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday!

Angel
