Louisiana- Sneak Peek

I am finally home, unpacked and in the process of downloading all the images from the trip. This holiday I went home to Louisiana to spend some time with my family and visit with some old friends. Here is a sneak peek from some of the shoots I did while I was there.

I want to thank my parents, sisters and friends (old and new) for making it a very special holiday.

I hope everyone enjoys these, there is plenty more to come soon.

In the Spotlight

Last Sunday, Dave came over and brought his lights so he and I could play around with some different lighting concepts. We got lucky and my husband Chris volunteered to be our subject. All of us had a good time talking and snapping away, we even braved the weather to get a few outdoor shots. Hope everyone enjoys these.

Chris- Sneak Peek

I know I have been away for a while and have been neglecting my blog duties! I have been working on what my new goals for next year will be, reflecting on last year's business goals, as well as studying up some different lighting concepts.
Here is a sneak peek from Sunday. My wonderful husband, Chris, volunteered to pose for Dave and I so we could work with some lighting (more so me than Dave).
More from this shoot this week. I promise I won't stay gone that long again!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary

Well it's officially been one year since I started this blog. It's been a truly amazing year. A year ago today, my mentor Dave finally convinced me (after a ton of arm twisting) to put myself out here and I couldn't be happier. I honestly can't thank him enough for the friend he's been to me.
A special person I need to thank is my husband, Chris. He's been there for me when I needed encouragement to keep going, he designed my business cards, branded my blog, and even went along on shoots to hold a reflector.
I want to thank Shannon Lee, Paola and other photographers who visit my blog, without you I couldn't have come this far in only a year. Your feedback and encouragement has meant so much to me.
I'd also like to thank all the friends who took time out of there lives to stand in front of my camera and the people who take the time to visit my blog to see what's new.

To my family and friends, I am so blessed to have you be a part of my life. Thank you so much!

"New" Paradise Pets Foster Dogs

This weekend I had a chance to spend some time with 3 wonderful dogs that are up for adoption at Paradise Pets. It was nice to also hear that since my last photoshoot there, Eve has been adopted. Eve was the adorable white boxer. It's great that she found a family to call her own.
If your looking for a new addition to your family, please check out the foster dogs at Paradise Pets.

Below are some of the photos I captured on Saturday. I hope everyone enjoys these.

Brandy is such a really sweet girl.

Junior a beautiful boy that is looking for a loving home.

Old Gramps, this adorable old guy has the cutest personality.

A Walk In The Park

Meghan, Troy, Zep and I spent sometime together a few weekends ago wandering trails around Ewing Park. Zep was quite the trooper since we kept him away from the usually doggie interactions in the park. We had a lot of fun together for this shoot. I hope everyone enjoys these.

Caddy Shoot Take 1

I named this posting "Take 1" because I fell in love with so many of the images from this shoot I was unable to narrow it down to my usual 4-6 images. If your ever near Odell/Dwight in central Illinois you should stop in and check out these old Route 66 gas stations. I hope everyone enjoys these and keep and eye out for "Take 2".

Thanks to Steve-o for letting me use the '60 for this shoot.
Thanks to Malcolm, Miss Jessie Orrick, and my son Armond for putting up with me out in the cold for these images.

Paradise Pets Foster Dogs

At the beginning of the month I posted about a cute little dog named Lilli and the challenge put forth by a mentor ("Lilli the Wonder Dog") to go out and give something back to a not for profit organization. This past weekend I went to Paradise Pets and photographed the other dogs fostered there for Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue (CISAR). It was a lot of fun spending time with these wonderful dogs and hearing their stories from Kathy, the owner of Paradise Pets.
If your looking for a great dog to add to your family please stop by and meet these guys for yourself. Also if your looking for a truly wonderful doggie daycare in Bloomington, IL stop in, take a tour and meet the staff at Paradise Pets.

BB- this little guy could be Mojo's baby brother

Eve- such an adorable face.

Lenny- don't let his looks decieve you, he's a loveable guy.

Ziggy- this big guy stole my son's heart (and secretly mine too).

The Jackson Family

I really had a blast spending time with the Jackson family. These boys had me laughing so hard that I had to pause between pictures to dry my eyes. They are in so many ways a gifted and blessed family. Our goal for the day was to show those gifts as well as capture the love they share as a family. I hope everyone enjoys these as much as I enjoyed taking them.
